Founder and CEO
As the founder & CEO of SilentBoost Consulting Group, Jim helps dozens of companies and their private equity sponsors improve operations, drive top-line growth, and maximize enterprise value. As a 20+ year veteran in the software space, Jim brings expertise across all facets of running a fast-growth technology company. All told, Jim and his board-level companies have returned in aggregate nearly $1.5 billion in shareholder value via five successful exits while averaging MOIC returns better than 4x. He believes that operational excellence is a key to driving both value and competitive differentiation in today’s fast-paced world and formed SilentBoost to expand upon this belief. In 2018, SilentBoost was named to metro-Milwaukee’s Future-50 list, recognizing the firm as one of the areas’s fastest growing companies.
In addition to his work with SilentBoost, Jim is a senior operating advisor to Spectrum Equity Investors and also serves on the board of directors of Datassential in Chicago, Bitly in New York City, and Expert Institute in New York City. Jim spent the bulk of his career as president of Milwaukee-based Zywave, Inc., the leading provider of front-office software solutions for insurance brokers. Jim was part of Zywave’s founding team in the mid-1990s and helped to drive the business to nearly $100 million in recurring revenue before exiting the company. Jim was also president of Milwaukee-based Advicent Solutions, a member of the board of directors at Dallas-based Trintech, a member of the board of directors of RainKing Solutions in Washington, D.C., a member of the board of directors at Pittsburgh-based Net Health, and a volunteer board member of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Jim has a masters of business administration degree from Marquette University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also holds a bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin in both computer science and accounting, where he graduated summa cum laude with honors.
